Marsupilami II (44)

Minimax

Using Aunt Diane’s heavy, old cassette deck, Hector records the sound of a bunch of birds whistling Beethoven’s Fifth after hearing it in the vegetable garden. He then hears Mrs. Marsu singing the same exact symphony the birds were singing. For Hector, this is the recording of the century! Misunderstanding the concept of a recording, Marsu thinks his beloved is imprisoned in the cassette deck, and he carries it back to the nest. As Marsu tries to figure a way to rescue his wife, Mrs. Marsu, not far away, hears the recorded « hoobee beebeesť coming from the cassette deck. Jealous, she’s convinced her husband is cavorting around with a rival female marsupilami. Thinking the rival female is hiding in the cassette deck, Mrs. Marsu grabs the device and hurls it into the distance. Marsu and Hector go search for the cassette deck so they explain the misunderstanding to an angry Mrs. Marsu. But it’s fallen into the hands of Backalive, who uses it to trap our yellow and black-spotted hero. Once they take care of the hunter, Hector has to explain the concept of a sound recording to Mrs. Marsu. Luckily, he has the help of a trio of vocal macaw parrots. Hoobee bee! (23 min)
