The high mountain forests of China’s Shennongjia National Park are home to golden snub-nosed monkeys. Told across a year, this film features two family clans battling it out for food, mates and social status. To survive and prosper they must endure extreme weather, food shortages, predator pressures and battles with rivals, in a society where it’s ultimately the females who hold big sway.
