Dido Elizabeth Belle is the daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral, who had an extramarital affair with black woman. In the XVIII century in England, skin colour gave a huge advantage in all aspects of life. Despite this, John brings his dark-skinned daughter to the house of his uncle, 1st Earl of Mansfield.
