OMAN: A GULF IN THE STORM. In this country situated at the tip of the Arabian peninsula, the violent Cyclone Gonu, which struck the country in 2007, has left many scars but has also triggered a drastic ecological revolution, towards clean energy ressources. An ambitious geological research programme has been launched to find out more about the ophiolite, a rock known to have a capacity to store 10 times more carbon than other minerals. Will this country turn from an oil well to tomorrows carbon drain well ?
