Journeying from the outer Hebrides to remote glens, from ancient castles to famous distilleries Charlie goes in search of the spirit of Scotland finding a warm welcome in some of the most unusual places. Starting his journey of the Hebridean Archipelago on Skye intrepid gastronomer Charlie Ottley picks mussels to make moules mariniere on the slopes of the majestic Cuillins and catches up with Clan Chief Hugh Macleod in his ancestral home, Dunvegan Castle. Charlie also visits Lewis and Harris, climbs aboard the Hebridean Princess for a cruise of the inner Isles and disembarks on Jura for a hike to the mighty whirlpools of the Corrievechan.
