POSTCARD PERFECT

TAHITI. French Polynesia... lying 18,000km away from France, this overseas territory in the South Pacific is made up of 118 islands, and half of its population is concentrated on the biggest: the mythical island of Tahiti. With its dreamy beaches, its lagoons of crystal clear water at its luxurious vegetation the most famous French archipelago is the ultimate destination for honeymoons and weddings. But behind this postcard image hides a very different reality. Like elsewhere, the archipelago was unable to fend off crisis.
