Le Songe (The Dream), a ballet by Jean-Christophe Maillot; The Monte Carlo Ballet; Choreographed for 26 dancers and premiered on 27 December 2005 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. Music by Felix Mendelssohn, Daniel Teruggi, Bertrand Maillot; The Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by Nicolas Brochot. Costumes: Philippe Guillotel; Sets: Ernest Pignon-Ernest; The creation of Le Songe (The Dream) highlighted the 20th anniversary of the Monte Carlo Ballet. The piece is adapted from A Midsummer Night's Dream, and features an ancient court, amateur actors, elves and goblins in a fantastical atmosphere. Maillot commissioned the score from two contemporary composers, Daniel Teruggi et Bertrand Maillot, and also included the celebrated music by Mendelssohn.
