During the annual parade arranged by the store on Christmas Eve, the actor who played Santa Claus was discovered to be drunk. Doris Walker, the event director, tries to persuade passing-by Kris Kringle to play Santa. After a staggering success, Kringle gets a job at the store. But there Kris claims that he is the real Santa Claus and has to prove it in court...
