A hurricane throws circus magician Oscar Diggs into the magical country of Oz. Being prone to fraud, the circus actor believes he has hit the jackpot. With the help of his tricks, he can easily obtain fame and fortune. However, the three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, doubt that he is the great magician the Oz people were anticipating for so long.
