Stanko is one of bigger actors of the jazz in Europe. It is in 1975 when he collaborated for the first time with the label ECM. He recorded magnificent albums since decades. With ' Soul of Things ', he rethought his roots about various levels and let reappear his first influences of Miles Davis and Chet Baker. He was inspired for the opportunity of his first compositions and the musics which had mattered for him, in particular those of Krzysztof Komeda. And for the first time on an album ECM, he surrounded itself wih a Polish group. Indeed, since decade, Stanko worked with a young group. ' He enormously helped me to find my voice ' comment on the pianist Marcin Wasilewski. This combination between the experience of Stanko and the energy of the youth of the trio has proved to be very productive by creating a music at the same time dynamic, lyric, well-balanced and very beautiful. Two years later, ' Suspended Night ' was crowned golden record in Poland. He climbed at the top of Billboard Jazz Charts in the United States (what arrives only very rarely for an European group). On their last record ' Lontano ' which closed their trilogy in 2006, most of the material formed themselves spontaneously and the group has create freely played ballads. Since then, the ways of these four musicians separated to find itself occasionally among which on December 8th, 2012 at Dinant, Adolphe Sax's home town, inventor of the saxophone!
