Since the launch of his business in 1985, the name Tommy Hilfiger has been synonymous with classic American sportswear. In 1986, he announced his arrival on the New York fashion scene with an irreverent ad campaign comparing himself to top American designers, and by the 90’s he had proven that his brand was on par with the best. His popularity skyrocketed in the 90’s thanks to his famous red, white, and blue logo, and by the 2000’s he had revamped the brand to reach new global heights. In 2012, he won the CFDA’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2016, he launched a design collaboration with supermodel Gigi Hadid. Tommy’s ability to constantly reinvent the classics has solidified his status as an icon in American fashion.
