Toronto-born twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten debuted their menswear line, DSquared2, in Milan in 1993. Building off of the momentum from their menswear, the duo launched their first womenswear collection in 2003. The Catens have since become famous for their theatrical shows, cheeky sense of humor, and their unique vision of glamour – a mix of celebrity swagger and jet-set excess, shaken up with some downhome elements from their native Canada. In recent years, the brothers have dressed the likes of Rihanna, Beyonce, Madonna, and Gwen Stefani, and while the elite fashion press is not always so starry eyed when it comes to DSquared’s over-the-top Milan runway shows, celebrities, supermodels, and daring consumers around the globe still can’t get enough!

In this episode, we explore the distinctive style of the house of Versace. The genius of Gianni Versace was his unification of contemporary culture and high art into clothes that were daring, sexy and exuberantly colored. His stunning collections were a tangible expression of his “joie de vivre” which was tragically cut short in 1997 when he was murdered outside his Miami home. After his death, his sister, Donatella Versace, took on the design reigns and has taken the house to new levels, while still maintaining the glamour and sex-appeal of the Versace brand

Look back on the Year 2016 as mainstay megabrands put their best foot forward and new designers make a name for themselves, all while embracing diversity. Fashion’s blockbuster brands pull out all the stops; Chanel redefines traveling in style, Versace celebrates the power of women, and Jean Paul Gaultier parties the night away. Marc Jacobs creates a world of whimsy while RISD looks to the 90’s and pays special tribute to Todd Oldham, and Donna Karan reflects on her storied career. The next generation of designers show the world what they’re made of – Alexander Wang celebrates 10 years, and Jeremy Scott delights with his car-wash themed collection for Moschino. Paris welcomes China’s Guo Pei with her debut Haute Couture collection. Sophie Theallet emphasizes the beauty of diversity, and Lady Gaga supports her friend and stylist, Brandon Maxwell. Model and Instagram darling, Gigi Hadid storms the international catwalks. Plus, the year would not be complete without the 2016 Met Gala featuring a star-studded red carpet for the opening of Manus X Machina!

In this episode, we explore the distinctive style of Dolce & Gabbana. From their first womenswear collection in 1985, the design duo behind the label, Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana, have grown their brand into an Italian powerhouse, built on tailoring sexy clothes for women who want to be noticed. Romantic images of a Sicilian heritage are sprinkled throughout their collections, and emphasis is often placed on that lacy symbol of femininity, the bra. Sharply tailored suits and wild animal prints are must-have items for the strong women that they dress and who ultimately inspire them, but overall, their work is always infused with a concentrated dose of high octane glamour
