Over the past thirty years, the orchestra has made its mark with performances of Handel, Purcell and Rameau, along with Haydn and Mozart, and more recently Bach and Schubert. They have also established a reputation for their performances of nineteenth century French music: Berlioz ('Les Nuits d'été', 'Harold en Italie'), Bizet ('L'Arlésienne'), Massenet ('Cendrillon')... Among their recent successes: Handel's 'Alcina' at the Vienna opera, Mozart's 'Idomeneo' at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, the Mozartwoche and the Musikfestbremen where the orchestra has been appearing regularly since 1995. In 2012, on its thirtieth birthday, the orchestra was invited to the Berlin Opera for 'Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno' by Handel. After a recording of the complete Schubert Symphonies in Vienna for the label Naive, they are now on a European tour with Bach's St Matthew Passion. (58 min)
