      • Liniker e os Caramelows - Banlieues Bleues

Liniker e os Caramelows; Liniker Barros (lyric); Renata Essis (chorus); Eder Araujo (saxophone); Fernando Trz (keyboard); William Zaharanski (guitar); Rafael Barone (Bass); Péricles Zuanon (drums); Marja Lenski (percussion); Led by a transsexuel singer with knock out charisma, this is the soul sensation which has arrived from Brazil and which we haven't finished talking about. It is not for nothing that the group is called 'The Toffees'. Because they are soft, sweet, chewy, amusing, endearing. In less than three years, the Paulites have succeeded in exploding the YouTube audience assessment meters and conquered Brazil with their hybrid tropical soul which fits perfectly into the footsteps of a Tim Maia. Released in 2016, their first album 'Remonta' is a pure chef d'oeuvre of 'funzy', the style which they have created: a sort of languorous funk interspersed with explosions of hard rock. A cross-pollinated and contrasting groove just like their native Brazil. Recorded on April 6th 2018 athe Marbrerie, Montreuil, Banlieues bleues festival; Réalisation, Stéphan Jourdain (51 min)

      • Fabrizio Bosso Quartet & Paolo Silvestri Ensemble 'Swinging Duke' - Roma Jazz Festival

FABRIZIO BOSSO QUARTET & PAOLO SILVESTRI ENSEMBLE 'SWINGING DUKE'; Fabrizio Bosso, trumpet, flugelhorn; Julian Oliver Mazzariello, piano; Luca Alemanno, double bass; Nicola Angelucci, drums; Claudio Corvini, trumpet; Fernando Brusco, trumpet; Mario Corvini, trombone; Gianni Oddi, alto sax; Michele Polga, tenor sax; Marco Guidolotti, baritone sax. Conducting and arrangements Paolo Sivestri. The ingredients of this tribute to Duke Ellington are extraordinary. Fabrizio Bosso is a great Italian trumpeter, an authentic and worldwide established jazz star: he has already participated in live and studio projects that have gained acclaim and recognition for his huge expressive talent and his impressive technical qualities. Bosso presents a quartet which stars three exceptional musicians sided by the big band, conducted by the eclectic Paolo Silvestri (pianist and film music composer), who has rearranged and revisited Duke Ellington's repertoire especially for this event. The outcome of this mixture is a unique concert, in which quartet and big band with contrasting sounds mingle in unique harmonies where jazz disclose a harmonic world: the immortal hits of a musical genius reverberate in an unexpected and engaging way. • Taj Mahal and Bassekou Kouyaté - Jazz á Vienne

Taj Mahal, a formidable musician, an icon of the blues and of world music, can play over twenty instruments, including guitars and dobros, dulcimer, banjo and harmonica. A figurehead of the 'blues revival' in the mid-60's, Taj Mahal is a prolific composer, a musicologist, an indefatigable explorer of African-American, African, Caribbean, Indian and Hawaiian music. At a recording session in a studio in Georgia, Taj Mahal met griot Toumani Diabaté. Their research into the links between the blues and Mandingue music gave birth to the album 'Kulanjan' (1999). The Mandingue tradition can be heard today in the electrified and modernized ngoni of Bassekou Kouyaté. The musician from Mali is an activist for peace and tolerance in his home country. Bassekou Kouyaté invites the itinerant King of blues, Taj Mahal, for a duet: a magical moment. (53 min)
